Gorwa or Gorva is a residential cum commercial area in the Vadodara district. It is located towards the northwest fringes of the city and is 5.6 kilometres from its centre. It is a part of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation and lies along the Bhailal Amin Road. The area is known for the Gorwa Lake and home to the oldest vegetable market of the city. The area is near to Koyali, which is 4 kilometres away.
Being a commercial centre with ample restaurants and shopping zones, Gorwa is popular among home buyers. Most of the housing areas are managed by the Gujarat Housing Board. Currently, there are four developers working on Gorwa real estate. Some of them are Shree Sai Developers, Neptune Realty Group, SB Patel Infrastructure and Mayfair Spaces. The nearest railway station to Gorwa is the Vadodara Junction, 5.6 kilometres away. However, smaller railway stations like Goya Gate (7.3 kilometres away) and Vishvamitri (5.3 kilometres from here) are easily accessible too. Gorwa is linked to two arterial roads of the city. The Bhailal Amir Marg connects it to the industrial areas of IPCL and IOCL and the colonies of Fatehgunj and Alembic on the other side. The Sardar Patel Road also passes through here and continues on to Alkapuri and Race Course Circle. The road merges with Bhailal Amin Road on the other side. The Vadodara Airport is 7.9 kilometres from here through the Gorwa and VIP Roads.
The social infrastructure of Gorwa is well-developed as there are several schools and hospitals. CK Prajapati School, Alembic Vidyalaya and Vidhya Vihar School are some of the educational institutes present here. Hospitals in the vicinity include Bhailal Amin General Hospital, Netra Deep Hospital and Gorwa Hospital.
