Puzhakkal is located in the Puzhakkal block of Thrissur, Kerela, a land that was vast paddy field a decade ago. Puzhakkal got its name from Puzhakkal River that flows through the region. Currently, it is one of the most developed suburban areas in the city of the Thrissur.
Important buildings near Puzhakkal in Thrissur include Amala Institute of Medical Sciences, Government Law College, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Lulu Convention Centre (Kerela’s largest and India’s second largest convention centre), and many more. One of the luxury projects in Puzhakkal is completed and run by Sobha Group. Sobha City, which is the biggest and Kerela’s first integrated township owned by Sobha group. Kerela Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA) is planning to set up an industrial park in Puzhakkal. The park would be set up over the area of 50 acres, and 10 acres of it would be retained by Industries Department.
A transit terminal mobility hub also to be set up in Puzhakkal on lines of Vyttila Mobility Hub to reduce traffic congestion was recently approved to be realised soon. Having a railway terminal also at Amala Nagar just 3 km away, the suburb town may have major development scope in near future.
With Sobha Group already building the infrastructure and selling ready to move flats in Puzhakkal, the town will invite many developers and will be a much bigger area in next ten to fifteen years. Plots in Puzhakkal are already available in the real estate market. Whether or not the developers will have synergy to develop Puzhakkal together is something that only time will tell.
