The wildlife in the area mainly comprises of bison, ant-eater, deer, hares, rabbits, mongoose, foxes, kites, snakes, partridges, swallows, sparrows, bulbuls, squirrels and paradise flycatchers.
Tourism is the biggest industry in the locality, particularly eco tourism that comes with enchanting experiences revolving around green resorts. The Yercaud Lake and Killiyur Falls are two of the major attractions in the locality. The Montfort Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School is a famous educational institution present here.
