Narayangaon is a town in Pune district of Maharashtra and is popular for its natural beauty. It is situated on the bank of river Meena and lies on the side of the Sahyadri mountain range. The southern part of this locality is surrounded by a distinct hilly region that separates it from adjoining Ambegaon taluka. At 16 kms from this place lies Shivneri Fort which is the renowned as the birthplace of Chhatrapati Shri Shivaji Maharaj. Shivneri, Tulja, Manmodi and Lenyadri are some of the caves located around this place and are known to exist since the Buddhist era. Other tourist attractions in and around Narayangaon are Junnar taluka, which lies around 18 kms west to this locality and is noted for the presence of 27 leopards in its 500 sq. m. area. Chateau Indage Ltd. is an important as well as one of the largest vineyard in India is located around 5 kms north from the town. To the west of Narayangaon lies Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope which is one of the world's largest array of radio telescopes and is being operated by the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics, a part of TIFR, Mumbai.

Narayangaon is situated on Pune- National Highway 50 and lies 77 kms north of Pune, 190 kms east of Mumbai and 133 kms south of Nashik. Pune airport is the nearest airport to this locality ( 73.3 kms). Chatrapati Shivaji International airport lies about 195 kms away from Narayangaon and at a distance of 77 kms lies the Railway station.
