The Bandra Kurla Complex is located towards the centre of Mumbai. A planned commercial area, the complex was developed by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) as one of the growth centres. It was also constructed with an aim to decongest office spaces in south Mumbai. The area has been built on the marshes towards the north of Mahim Creek. It is bounded by the suburbs of Bandra towards the west and Kurla towards the East. Santa Cruz is located towards its north. The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and the Domestic Airport are only a couple of kilometres towards the north which makes it easy to commute between the complex and the airport.
