Malakpet is one of the oldest areas of Hyderabad and it belongs to the Telangana region. The locality was named after Malik Yakoob, a servant of Abdulah Qutub Shah Golconda King. This region was divided into two parts; Old and New and comes under the Municipal Corporation.
