Durgapur is a city in the Burdwan district in West Bengal. It is the third largest city in the state in terms of area and population. After Chandigarh, it is also the second planned city in India. The National Highway 2 and the State Highway 9 pass through the city. It is one of the cities from where the Asian Highway (AH) passes. AH1 links Japan with Turkey via countries like China, Cambodia, India, Thailand and more. Kazi Nazrul Islam International Airport is the nearest airport to the city.
